“I Still Wake Up”

Wed, 06/12/2019 - 06:07 -- JMacho

Dear depression

I wake up

And I wake up more

To the sun that burns

With your name stuck in my throat

I feel things

And I feel things now

That not a soul could understand

Questioning

What is happening to me

Your eyes linger in the dark

And your eyes linger in the dark longer

Watching and waiting

For the right time to strike again

You crowd

And you over crowd the corners of my mind

The parts of my mind

I wish were empty

But I still wake up

And I still wake up today

So in the end

And so in the end you’ve lost

You didn’t win

And you didn’t win over my life

So I wake up

And so I wake up today and every day

So that proves

And so that proves power

My power

And so that proves my power
