Emptiness

Proverbs 30:14 New English Translation (NET Bible)14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords
and whose molars are like knives to devour the poor from the earth
and the needy from among the human race.
  Emptiness

Maybe what is left right now

should be left behind.

For seeds sowed soon will flourish

so the fruits of them won’t be mine.

There is no hope unless Christ is there

without Him, there is no consolation.

Maybe I’m blind as I’m traveling here

in a false sense of a vague contemplation

What about the rest of them

whose teeth are always sharpened?

They’ll chew on the ones that trusted them

and their conscience never bothered.

The men I would have trusted

the ones I thought would keep me.

I cannot trust them anymore

because I know that they will cheat me.

Are my expectations now to remain

just above an average of zero?

Is not hope set aside for the weak

and not for the self-appointed hero?
