Why Study Marine Science
When I look to the water
I do not see the waves
Crashing
Scattering the rocks and silt below
When I look to the water
I do not see the sand
Holding the shells in a grip
Firm
Stationary
Yet so fragile
When I look to the water
I do not see the boats
The people
Splashing
Full of joy
I see a clock
On a ticking time bomb
Tick
Tick
Tick
The waves
try to push the hands back
hopless
The sand
aims to stop the clock
Fruitless
Because the boats push the time along
The people sing to the beat
Tick
Tick
Tick
Listen
To the sound
Tick
Tick
Tick
