Rebekah
Dear Rebekah,
I always take a look at you when you're not aware,
But most times you catch me looking and I find it so unfair
That the stars in your eyes twinkle, when you see him and not me,
So I suddenly turn away and pretend to be a tree.
I become a Maple that had been pierced too many times.
The sap that is my blood is sold for merely dimes
By those that I trusted to stroke my bark.
They definitely left a mark.
I used to live off the air you breathed,
But I'm relieved
After I grieved
To know that
Life's a breeze
If we part ways.
Remaining days
Will be okay.
I found peace.
May your deceits
Cease.
Love,
Kendra
