Red, White, and Blue

Red is for the blood

Red for all those who’ve bled for freedom

White is for nothing

Nothing that anybody has done to ensure the freedom of all

Blue is for the sadness

The sadness of a country divided and in turmoil

Hiding behind words is what we do

Though our actions make those words untrue

The land of the free may we be

Red, white, and blue is all we see

Persecute all who may want to partake

In our freedom for their own safety’s sake

Red is for the blood

Red for all those who’ve bled for freedom

White is for nothing

Nothing that anybody has done to ensure the freedom of all

Blue is for the sadness

The sadness of a country divided and in turmoil

Fly high like an eagle

Proud, beautiful, and majestic

To fly high only for a few people

While the rest are made to be pathetic

Every book is judged by its cover

Alienating us from our American brothers

Red is for the blood

Red for all those who’ve bled for freedom

White is for nothing

Nothing that anybody has done to ensure the freedom of all

Blue is for the sadness

The sadness of a country divided and in turmoil

Hand in hand we should all stand

Loving each child, woman and man

As they are in heart not in skin

Treat them as one of kin

Recognize the differences between everyone

Respect all those who see the same sun

For how much greatness a nation could claim

When we all regard each other as the same

Red is for hardiness and valour

Red for all of those who take pride in our country

White is for purity and innocence

The purity and innocence of our love for each other

Blue is for trust and loyalty

The trust and loyalty we hold in our country to remain true

This poem is about:
My country
