I am Kieu Lien Tran

I am the scars my parents put on me as a child. From the abuse mentally and physically. Little did they know they scarred me sociologically too.

I am the scared child put through the foster system and the under funded public school systems.

From the free and reduced lunches to the uncertainty of a stable home.

I am the child with no parents to turn to when the world is against me.

I am constantly fighting against the stereotypes of minority groups being poor and uneducated.

I am not just the low income dependent child, but the epitome of struggle.

I am the hungry college student working full time and skipping meals to pay bills.

I am the driven college student waking at dawn to tackle the day so my future will be bright as the sun.

I am a fighter made up of my own determination and motivation.

I will be the next teacher that will change and inspire the lives of the youth.
