What My Parents Always Wanted Me To Be
I am what my parents always wanted me to be.
I am a good girl with good grades and good friends.
I hold doors open for people.
I say please and thank you.
I do what is asked of me.
I do what is expected of me.
I do it because it's what I want to do.
This is how I want others to see me.
As a good person.
A helper.
A friend.
My parents will love me no matter how "good" I am.
They will love me no matter what happens in life.
They love me for me.
Not for the things I do and say.
But for being their daughter.
For being me.
All my parents want me to be is myself.
Whoever I become is who they want as a daughter.
Because they know they raised me right.
They raised me to use my manners.
And to help others.
They taught me to speak my mind.
And to be strong.
But most importantly,
They taught me to always be myself.
I am what my parents always wanted me to be.
Because I am what I want to be.
Because I am me.
