A Blessing in Disguise?

Shelter or imprisonment?

Concealed behind the levees, the barriers, the walls promising

the safety of an ignorant child.

The worries of an elder engulfing the young.

Believing the filthy gallons would surely promise a deadly unsung.

But the escape to another world would expose the carriers of the true danger.

The fire breathers, piercing the skin of children; competition murdering companionship.

Was this the reality of my city? Corruption in my manger?

Katrina was not a beauty but she gave a child a better scenery?

She sailed me to my safehaven from the battlefield.
