Even Titans Fall
Location
I bear the weight of the sky on my shoulders,
The weight of the world, all alone.
My heavy thoughts press down
On my head just like boulders.
I swallow my children, my odd ideas,
I swallow them so they don't bring me down.
But one day, I'm sure, a trickster will come,
And they'll all pour out in a flood.
I want to be strong,
And carry my name with pride,
So ignore the dirt on my face.
Because even Titans fall.
I do not fear the future, though maybe I should.
I feel strong, full of power and love.
But my hubris is my strength,
I plan to fall, so I can pick myself up.
I expect to be strong,
And carry my name with pride,
So ignore this silly grin on my face
Because even Titans fall.
I hold my own in a scrape,
I handle myself in a fight,
My enemies are the world's sexists
Always surprised when I lick them.
My hat is full of red feathers
My limbs are all scarred,
My voice is hoarse from laughing
Because my name is a boy’s, I'm my parent's son.
I will always be strong,
And carry my name with pride,
So ignore the bruise on my face,
Because even Titans fall.
I have a thousand arms,
I have a thousand hands,
I'm one of the few with the power to use,
And I'll use them all for all.
A thousand pats on the back,
A thousand hands to help you up,
A thousand arms to hold you,
When you only need one.
I want to be strong,
And carry my name with pride,
So ignore me as I silently support you,
Because I'll never let you fall.
Unexpected trials and joys are truly my forte,
I may fall, ego bruised,
And throw away my pride,
But I am a Titan. I am strong.
And I will stand tall,
Stay strong and have pride in my name,
So ignore this sweat all over my face,
Because even Titans fall.
So take note of the glow
Around my face,
This Titan will never truly fall.
