Had You Stayed

I wear my heart on my sleeve,

Just because you decided to leave;

I woke up with heart ache,

So much that it might break.

I wear a smile on my face,

And show love with my eyes;

I welcome all with a kind embrace,

Even though part of me dies.

As a little girl I looked up to you,

And sadly I don't think you even knew.

I watched you from afar,

And I kept my love for you in a jar.

Young and naive it was you I wanted to please,

But blood had already settled my fate;

I never thought I'd get a disease,

And it's you I try not to hate.

Had you stayed with me,

Maybe I'd be free.
