One Job May Change My Life.

Location

Imagine the kid with the mark on his life

 Breaking free

Free from critics and stereotypes

Due to someone finally seeing his struggles

Researching before judging his life

Understanding why he so anger

 Cause he feels trap

He’s afraid

He’s scared

He screaming for a hero

Throughout his life, this hero been a no show

Until the day I come alone

My paper work says come to his home

He’s 8, lights off and he’s all alone

I stare in a daze with so much amaze

I’m interrupted by the growl of his stomach

He haven’t ate in days

He says he being punished

Cause he tried to run away

To a family like the ones on TV

The ones that care and have time for me

Teach me how to count

Teach me how to read

I just want a family that actually sees me.

I asked him why he not at school

His mom told him he is not smart enough

I say school is to learn

He says he cannot

My heart is broken

My heart is scattered

I AM A SOCIAL WORKER

In this is a disaster

I take his hand

Give him a couple words on encouragement

Ask him do he like McDonalds

And he just stares at me

I wipe the frown off my heart

Put a smile on my face

Today he will know

How it feels to have his pain erased

As months pass

He begin to grow

He like his new family

He like going to the park

He likes reading

He like getting gold stars

Years pass

He is now graduating from school

He looks me in my eyes

And he says

 You saved me.

My dream job is to become a social worker. I want to help children with their future. I want to give kids the opportunity to become something more than just what their mark on their life tells them to be. I hope to help kids understand that the unfortunate upbringing of their lives is not their fought but it will be their testimony. I want to change and save lives because so many lives have been lost and so many hearts have been broken with false hopes and broken punishments. I believe that every child deserves to have someone that they can depend on and I hope that that child will be me. I understand how it feels to be the only one that understands and get you. My life and trialbulations have inspired me to become a social worker.
