In the Eyes of Compassion

Location

What has fallen to the ground?

A baby bird with a broken wing, no hope to be found.

Crestfallen                    Crushed                         Confused

This being of the air once given reign of the skies has lost a power to take flight.

Her beautiful, wild eyes dim as her body grows weaker.

Open wounds                   Oppressive                     Obscene

Creatures of the night reveal themselves as the sun sets.

Howling wolves, rattling snakes and screeching birds of prey are heard.

Madness                        Malicious                       Memories

Who can restore her wings for flight?

What powerful force can restore the light?

Protector                       Power                            Provision

A hero arises to the scene with a look of recognition at the wounded.

Not fallen from the sky, this is a child fallen and trapped by the grip of poverty.

Abandoned                      Afraid                           Alone

Her empty stomach knows the constant throb from hunger.

Blisters and bruises cover both the body and her youth.

Starving                        Scorched                        Sickly

Sponsor, the hero’s name, direct from Compassion International.

Our young girl will be given the gifts of knowledge, nutrition, and the message of love from Jesus Christ.

Saved                            Secure                           Significant

A child without hope for the future now is given new life.

Heroes arise in men, women, and children with generous pockets to break the chains of poverty.

Inspiring                       Impressive                     Innovative

Rising in the sky bursts a blaze of colors.

The sun radiates a vision of joy to behold for rescued children around the world.

Optimistic                     Optimal                         Overjoyed

Wonders untold for souls given compassion and love.

The open sky now welcomes this child to take flight once more.

Noble                            Novel                            Noteworthy

Inspired by the scripture James 1:27

‘”Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
