Changing Colors

Location

Racism.

It's such a strong word,

A prevelant issue,

Something that separates,

Discriminates.

It leads to wars.

It does not love.

It is an unjust system.

It hurts.

If I could change it,

I would.

Change depends on the hearts

of everyone around the world.

We, as in every race

need to gain the courage

to change what we can.

Our hearts should be open

to loving, embracing, and accepting

every person in the world

despite the color of their skin.

Today, as a member of the "me generation,"

I'm putting a stop to this in my life.

Don't give me dirty looks,

Don't judge my decisions,

and don't be surprised when I say

I'm white, and I hate racism.
