Changing Bald to Beautiful

Location

You ask what I would change about things in my life, today. Why does the world listen to the media and accept what they say? Why doesn’t internal beauty matter to us more than external looks? Little babies are even drawn to beautiful people in children’s books. How come we are brainwashing our population with lies? Most women have a little fat and cellulite on their thighs. Not every person that is bald, is actually cancer ridden. Under their wigs and hats a secret is too often hidden. Alopecia can’t be cured and the psychological part is tough, But the mean looks and words that kids say make it extremely rough. How come little kids are being bullied for this disease that is rare, That rapes them from their innocence, by taking all of their hair? If I could change one thing, it would be the perceptions of our young. If you don’t have something nice to say, you must bite your tongue. Don’t pick on people that are different, no matter what you do. How would you feel if people just starting laughing at you? Learn tolerance and acceptance with a smile on your face. Join in my crusade to try to make the world a better place. I would change the way that the world looks at each other And get people to love another, like sisters and brothers. I would watch all the little bald children rise above By changing the superficial hate to unconditional love. I would change the hurt that the bald child’s parents feel And let them see that losing your hair isn’t a big deal. Their kids will grow up well-adjusted and perfect as they are. After all, my mom lost her hair 27 years ago and is a super star. She is my hero, my role model and my very best friend. Her positive attitude and optimistic views never seem to end. I hope to share this story and reach deep inside your heart. Change needs to happen in our world, so let’s make a start. Look in the mirror and say something nice to the person there. I am sure that you look perfect with or without any hair. JESS PLISZKA

I couldn't agree more:) It is a shame the way our society teaches our children that beauty is a product of photoshop and plastic surgery than actual people doing normal everyday things. My mother is beautiful although she doesn't feel it, she's beautiful when she washes clothes and she is beautiful when she does nothing at all, she's beautiful because she is a fighter, she's a survivor she has fibromalgia and renards, and broken back. Yet she walks and she laughs and she loves my sister and I, and even our step father although she shouldn't. But because of society she feels ugly and unwanted. Its a shame that most of our depression and anxiety stem from this...this lie that beautiful people are superior.
